Puerto del Rosario Town Hall has held a coordination meeting to finalise the security and organisation plan for the 21st "Sol y Luna 2026" Sports Macro-event, one of the most popular and eagerly awaited summer occasions in Fuerteventura.
The meeting was attended by the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera; the councillor for Sports, Luis Chacón Martel; the councillor for Beaches, Toñi Fdez. Aragón; the councillor for Services, David de León Suárez; officials from the Traffic department, municipal technicians from the various areas involved, and Gustavo C. Magdaleno Quintero, delegate of the Las Palmas Port Authority in Fuerteventura.
The meeting addressed every aspect relating to security, mobility, emergencies, cleaning, accessibility and the logistics needed to ensure the event runs smoothly, once again bringing together more than 1,500 athletes. Coordination between the different municipal areas and partner organisations will make it possible to deploy a setup tailored to a day that each year draws thousands of people to Playa de Los Pozos.
Organised by the Sports Department, the Macro-event takes place on Saturday 20 June.
